Summary:
Follows safe food and sanitation practices while completing assigned cleaning and food preparation duties.
Job Duties:
Routine duties shall include providing health care services to individuals eligible for services in accordance with the self-governance compact and funding agreement between the Cherokee Nation and United States executed under the authority of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act.
Places food items on patient trays by reading regular or modified menus and individual diet cards, and also includes condiments, flatware, and beverages as necessary.
Portions food items into standard serving sizes using correct measuring utensils and modified diet menus.
Sets up salad and dessert station with food items and all supplies, and breaks down and cleans station after every meal service according to safety and sanitation procedures.
Assembles and prepares simple food items such as sandwiches, salads, hot and cold beverages.
Delivers trays to patient areas in a heated/cold cart and delivers nourishments to appropriate nursing unit.
Assists with meal count records as needed.
Serves trays in a sanitary, accurate, and attractive manner.
Loads and unloads dish machine and operates machine as required to maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the work area, dish machine, pot washer, tables, food carts, storeroom, walk-in and reach-in refrigerators and freezers.
Stores food and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Follows safety and sanitation practices in accordance with USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities are required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT None.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional six (6) months of experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must obtain a Food Handlers Card within 3 months of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
The employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Mon - Fri 6:
30am - 3pm.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
