Manages a caseload of approximately 70 student graduates and will advise and guide those students to ensure they obtain and retain for twelve months suitable employment. Services provided by the Center Placement Advisor will be face to face and all Placement Outcomes Measurement System (POMS) 10 goals related to post center measures will be expected to be attained.
Provides assistance to each trainee in developing, implementing, and updating their personal career development plan and goals. A career development plan for each trainee is to be developed in coordination with the trainee''s Career Technical Trade Instructor and Career Counselor. Conducts monthly assessments of each graduated trainee and his/her case load and forwards the updated information to the Transition Coordinator via the Computer Information System''s lap top computers. Provides linkages with one-stop career centers, the military, and institutions of higher learning. Assesses each trainee''s transition needs and assists in identifying and obtaining support as may be required for the trainee to maintain employment. Identifies job leads or educational and other training opportunities for each trainee assigned to his or her caseloads. Reviews each trainee''s resume'' and updates the resume'' as may be required prior to the job search period. Develops job search strategies for each graduating trainee prior to the trainee''s separation from the Center. Placement Outcomes Measurement System (POMS) will be the tool used to determine individual statistics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor''s degree from 4-year college or university; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience can be Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Human Relations, or Sales.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Prefer an additional three (3) years in a related field. Related experience can be Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Human Relations, or Sales.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver''s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have clerical and computer skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
